I'm on a roll..................

another finish..........YEAH!!
Assorted homespun strips in mostly browns and blues, a little bit of green...........
........sewn into a panel. The panel is 15 one inch strips long and 42" wide. I only needed a 7" strip so I will be making the rest of the panel into a table runner. Very country primitive.
And the finished block.......Only one more to go which I will start now because I did all the prep work this afternoon. I like to put on mindless crime shows or movies on TV while I do handwork.
While I was at my cutting table I ripped homespun fabrics into fat quarters.
I bet I have 600 or so pieces of homespun that I've collected over the years. Most are 2-4 yards each.
Putting them in the shop for sale.
Ooops.....Picture is sideways.
I also rip a 2-3"  strip from each one .
I use them to tie onto all my baskets and graters and enamelware buckets and bowls
that I sell in the shop.

More primitive blocks......................

for the design wall. I finished these four sections and I only have 2 more to go.

This Patek/Brannock pattern is almost 17 years in the making.
I can't believe I only have two more to go.
I spent the day in my sewing loft and was able to piece two tablerunners and stitched some 2" green and brown strips together. I'm not sure what I will do with the panel yet.
I will open my shop tomorrow and have to work a real job for a few hours tomorrow night so won't get any sewing done.
But............I have off the next two days so they will be spent in the loft.
I hope you have time to do some sewing.
Until next time................

Primitive blocks..........

........on my design wall.
I started these blocks way back in 1997.
If you will....notice the empty spaces. That is where I need to fill in with more blocks
I like to lay out the blocks so I can see the colors, that way I won't duplicate similar colors in adjoining blocks.
This is the latest one I finished yesterday.
I think I only have four more to go but some of them are multiple sections.
I am using almost all homespun plaids and brushed cottons, which I have been collecting for twenty five plus years.
This pattern was a block of the month in 1996 by
Linda Brannock and Jan Patek.
I love their work and collected all their books and patterns.

Whether you do hand work or by machine........
Happy stitching everyone!

IT HAS BEEN A LONG TIME...........

...........since I last posted....over 2 months.  Time really flies and I have had some major changes in my life and none of them good. Just 2 months ago I was loving my life and everything about it and then--- WHAM...the bottom fell right out from under me. Hopefully "GOD works in mysterious ways" will hold true in my case.

Having a busy Saturday today in the shop.
It's taking me 4 hours to get this post done.

I have 2 spots left for my LOCKERHOOKING CLASS this Monday evening the13th.
Time is 5-9.
The cost is $30 and includes the supply kit.
All you need is fabrics to match your decor or room or?
You will need 6 different fabrics in red OR blue OR any color cut into 1 1/2" x width of fabric strips. You will need 6 or 7 strips from each fabric.
You will also need 8 or 9 strips cut 1 to 1 1/4" x width of fabric strips from your border fabric.
For example, I used 6 different red fabrics and made my border black.
This cute Americana doll waiting to go home with someone this summer.

I finally finished this large star quilt. It is a Country Threads pattern that I made a few years ago using all homespuns. The one thing I did different is I made the backgrond behind the star light and the star is dark.
The pattern picture shows the background dark and the star light.

This is a stitchery that is my new motto. I want to "SIMPLIFY". I am going thru all my stuff and am listing many many things on my ETSY store and I am considering opening an Ebay store just to get rid of it all. I have been a collector of many many things over the years and I am done with moving and cleaning and rearranging and moving again.

Well, June 14th is Flag Day and my sale starts in the shop on Monday the 13th.
I AM OFFERING EVERYONE A 30% DISCOUNT ON THEIR PURCHASES UNTIL JULY 31.
I am wanting to make more room in the shop. As of right now I could not move another thing in. My storeroom in the back of the shop is stacked with boxes of stuff that needs to come out front.
I hope everyone enjoys their summer.
Have a lot of BBQ's.
Do a lot of weeding and planting.
Stay cool,
Susan
